Dive Site Added- Plums Cove in Rockport, MA
Plum Cove is a nice dive spot on Cape Ann, MA. Divers can explore each rocky side of the cove, both with plenty of life to see. The cove is fairly small so it would be easy to get to do each side of the cove if desired. Once parked, divers make their way through the sandy beach towards to enter the dive site. The downside of this beach is that Plum Cove isn't just a great spot for divers, it's a residential beach so parking is a nightmare during the summer in which all the parking becomes resident only parking 6:00AM through 6:00PM. Divers can still hit a great dusk to night dive during peak hours so don't fully shy away from this spot.
There is zero shellfishing allowed at this spot, with a $400 fine if ignored.
Parking: Resident parking only May1st - September 15th 6AM-6PM
Levels: All levels
Max Depth at High Tide: 40 Feet
Ideal Wind Temp: South; Avoid West Winds

CALLING NEW HAMPSHIRE DIVERS - Survey for New Hampshire In-Water Marine Debris Removal
NH legislature had passed HB 442 in 2023, which provided New Hampshire Fish and Game (NHFG) additional funds for a period of two years for in-water lost/derelict gear recovery, removal, and disposal.
To best utilize the legislative funds for these in-water cleanup events, NHFG will need to determine where best to concentrate in-water cleanup efforts with help from the fishing industry, diving industry, and other interested ocean users. NHFG would like to ask the dive community’s assistance in providing additional information leading to concentrated areas of in-water derelict trap gear.
Below you will find a short questionnaire and four maps of NH coastal waters. Fill out the questionnaire and mark on the map(s) where you have encountered derelict fishing gear. The survey and map(s) will provide NHFG with information in identifying areas of concentrated derelict gear.
Email Lauren Staples or Robert Atwood at Lauren.Staples@wildlife.nh.gov or Robert.Atwood@wildlife.nh.gov for questions!
