Maura Keane was introduced to the SCUBA diving world in 2014, and it was only by chance, while planning for a trip to Thailand. Long story short, she completed her dive certification coursework through United Divers (Somerville, MA) and then completed the open water dives in Thailand. Maura hadn't considered diving in New England, that was, until she uncovered the active diving community. Her first New England dive was Nubble Light (York, ME) -pictured below- with the New England Aquarium Dive Club. After that day she was captivated. Like most divers, it took Maura some years to build up her own dive kit and  network of dive buddies.

Maura Keane found that her experience of understanding New England dive community resources took longer than she liked. This inspired Maura to go on and found iDive New England  in 2022, hoping not only to captivate and inspire the next generation of divers, but also to serve as a public resource for divers across New England and beyond.
