Horse Ferry Wreck (boat dive)
Burlington
The Horse Ferry is a unique dive site in Lake Champlain, laying in 50ft of water. The ferry was powered by two horses that would work along a rotating surface connected to the paddlewheel. Her launch is unknown as she has not yet been identified but she may have been launched in the 1830s or 1840s when these types of boats were introduced to the area.
Seasonal registration required if you have your own boat. Register at area dive shops, local charter captains, the Burlington Community Boat House, Westport Marina (NY) or at the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum.
