Ship Island

Wolfeboro

Ship Island is a nice boat dive that all levels can enjoy. For those that are beginner divers, the dive can be done in about 30 feet of water. There are large boulders and curious sunfish to explore. There are two small wrecks at this site.

The first small wreck is in about 30 feet of water. It’s a wooden boat with an engine, that appears to be about a 25 foot cruiser with a closed bow from the 1950's per Dive Winnipesaukee. The wooden wreck is interesting enough to spend a bit of time there without venturing on to the second. For the advanced diver, there is a line from the stern of the wooden boat that leads to the smaller plexiglass wreck. It’s a very simple wreck but interesting enough to check out and get that deeper dive in. Not worth staying long.

Note, that Lake Winnipesaukee is very silty. We recommend frog kicks for all dives in the lake
