Picketts Ledge (boat dive)
Manchester by the Sea
Pickett's Ledge is a beautiful pinnacle filled with crevices large boulders and a few walls abundant with life. It's an intermediate dive site due to the depths reaching 65ft, but also because it's open ocean dive so divers need to be quite familiar with navigation techniques in normally limited visibility conditions and boat traffic. That being said, open water divers could feel comfortable brining a dive guide out here and remaining at 40-60ft, where there is plenty to experience. Divers can come across anemones (white, frilled and northern red), urchins, northern sea stars, forbes sea stars, blood stars, sea ravens, lobster, Jonah crabs, and so much more.
Current can be strong around changing tides, beware.
